First Pilot: “Soundtrack”
IEG currently has 12 concepts in development with the first docu-series pilot “Soundtrack” in production. “Soundtrack” explores the intertwined connection of music, culture and identity. The travel docu-series looks at the rich tapestry of global music and its profound impact on societies & individuals throughout time. In Soundtrack, the dynamic interplay between music, movement, and revolution is uncovered highlighting the profound ways in which sound has shaped the course of history and the fabric of Society.
Rwanda United
The first pilot will be “Rwanda United”, the story and journey of Orchestre Impala, who, through their music, played a significant role in reuniting the country after the genocide, offering a message of hope and unity during times of friction and tragedy. The episode explores the journey of the orchestra from the heights of national popularity, to the challenges of disbandment and the death of the lead singer Andre Sebanani during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The episode culminates in the impact of their reincarnation, shedding light on their enduring legacy and the profound impact they have had on Rwanda’s cultural landscape, to this day.
